7. Konferenz für Deutsch-Albanische Kulturwissenschaften

The Albanian Language Area and its Surroundings during Antiquity to the High Middle Ages

Die 7. Konferenz für deutsch-albanische Kulturwissenschaften war ein großer Erfolg.

Die von Prof. Bardhyl Demiraj und Prof. Olav Hackstein organisierte Tagung hat einmal mehr bewiesen, dass die Albanologie ein breit gefächertes, interdisziplinäres Forschungsgebiet darstellt, das viele interessierte Forscherinnen und Forscher anzieht. Sie erhält den Kontakt zu anderen Disziplinen wie der Slavistik, der Romanistik und der Gräzistik aufrecht und baut ihn aus.

Insgesamt 23 Forscherinnen und Forscher aus 19 wissenschaftlichen und universitären Einrichtungen aus ganz Europa stellten ihre wissenschaftlichen Beiträge vor und erörterten Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit. Insgesamt fanden 7 Sitzungen statt, mit Keynotes und Vorträgen über Archäologie, Populationsgenetik und historische Anthropologie, Mediävistik, historische Linguistik, Sprachkontakt und Etymologie sowie Kulturwissenschaften und Ethnolinguistik.

Die Tagung verfügte dank der Unterstützung der Nehemiah Gateway gGmbH über die notwendige Infrastruktur und bot den Forschern ein entspanntes und angenehmes Umfeld. Auch die beiden Konsuln der Republik Albanien und der Republik Kosovo in München sowie der Präsident und der Generalsekretär der Akademie der Wissenschaften Albaniens nahmen an der Tagung teil.

Diese Konferenz hat einmal mehr gezeigt, dass die Albanologie kein kleiner Zweig ist und allen ihren Schwesterdisziplinen viel zu geben hat. Aus diesem Grund ist ihre Existenz für die Geisteswissenschaften von grundlegender Bedeutung.

The 7th Conference on German-Albanian Cultural Studies was a great success.

The conference organized by Prof. Bardhyl Demiraj and Prof. Olav Hackstein proved once again that Albanian Studies is a broad discipline that attracts many interested researchers. It maintains and expands contact with other disciplines such as Slavic Studies, Romance Studies and Greek Studies, thus assuming an interdisciplinary character.

A total of 23 researchers from 19 scientific and university institutions from all over Europe presented their scientific contributions and discussed further opportunities for collaboration. There were 7 sessions in total, including keynotes and lectures about archaeology, population genetics and historical anthropology, medieval studies, historical linguistics, language contact and etymology, as well as cultural studies and ethnolinguistics.

Thanks to the support of Nehemiah Gateway, the conference provided the necessary infrastructure and a relaxed and pleasant environment for the researchers. The two consuls of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Kosovo in Munich as well as the President and the Secretary General of the Academy of Sciences of Albania also attended.

This conference proved once again that Albanology is not a small branch and has much to give to all its sister disciplines. For this reason, its existence is fundamental for the human sciences.
